Transfer Bench
Need a tub transfer bench? If you have limited
mobility or you’re worried about slipping and falling while
moving in and out of a bathtub then you just might need a good
tub transfer bench. Now you could just go out and get any
old bench, but considering your safety is on the line, you
don’t want to get any old one, but one you can be sure of being
stable and keeping you from slipping up and hurting
yourself.
This is why it’s a good idea to do your research on the
Internet where you can see what other people have to say about
the product you’re about to purchase. So, if you’re
looking for a tub transfer bench, here’s a quick look at some
of the better ones I was able to find while searching
online:
1. Deluxe Shower Transfer Bench
This one I found on Amazon for $59.99, it was rated 4.5/5
stars by 3 customers. It is designed for people who need
help moving in and out of bathtubs who have restricted
mobility. This is made of a durable seat and backrest and
the handle can be moved to accommodate either left or right
handed people. The frame is rust resistant and made of 1”
anodized aluminum with stainless steel hardware. It also
has rubber tips on the bottoms to prevent it from slipping when
wet.
This thing even has adjustable suction cubs if you have a
tub that is uneven which is great. This will allow you to
be safe and independent when taking care of yourself while
showering.
2. Bathtub Transfer Bench / Bath Chair With
Back, Wide Seat, Adjustable Seat Height, Sure-Griped Legs,
Lightweight Durable, Rust-Resistant Shower Bench
Wow, that’s a mouthful, this is quite popular though on
Amazon with 4.5/5 stars by 13 reviewers and at $49.99, it is
pretty cheap as well.
This is a great thing to use after surgery to enter into a
bath tub without worrying about lifting your leg too high
and/or losing your balance. It has a plastic bench and
back and a sturdy aluminum base. The rubber feet at the
bottom also ensure that it sticks to the floor and the tub and
doesn’t scratch it.
This does require some assembly, but it’s pretty easy to set
up. This can be adjusted as well based on your height
which is an additional benefit to getting this.
So if you’re disabled or otherwise unable to enter into a
bathtub safely on your own, and need a tub transfer bench,
those are 2 decent ones to consider. If you’re looking
for a tub transfer bench though, be sure to look around more as
there are plenty of other ones you may want to consider.
